European Motor Studio is excited to offer this rare 1996 BMW 840Ci Coupe finished in Jet Black over Light Silver leather. Invoiced to BMW North America after completion at the factory in February of 1996, this 840Ci arrived at Peake BMW in New Orleans on March 15, 1996 and was used as a dealer demo until being sold to the first owner on September 22, 1997 by Peake BMW. The car lived in New Orleans with the first owner until being sold in January of 2014 to the second owner out of Delaware. The car would then move to Fort Lauderdale in late 2014 where it would remain until March of 2019 when the car moved to AZ. A very extensive service file mainly from Peake BMW service is present with the car dating back to brand new including original sales contracts, the original Certificate of Origin, dealer brochure, the window sticker and all of the original factory books.
The Jet Black paint has an excellent finish which has just been buffed and polished and looks great. There are a few small stone chips in the lower skirt. The leather interior is all original and looks great for the cars age. The driver seat does show wear on the lower seat bolster and on the outer seat back bolster with some creasing and lite fade. The carpets are all in great shape with very lite age showing. The center console and wood is in excellent shape (wood on center console does have a couple small hairline cracks) and the dashboard does not have any shrinkage or cracking. The headliner is in good shape with no damage or sagging and all of the switchgear and instruments are clear and in excellent condition. BMW’s 4.4 V8 engine sits up in front and pulls this 840Ci beautifully. There is excellent smooth power with easy shifting in this 8-Series with no known issues in the transmission or engine. There is a smooth but sporty feel in the suspension with no noises or known issues. The brakes feel excellent with no squealing or grinding and no pulling under braking.
All of the electronic items are operating as designed including all of the interior and exterior lights, AC is ice cold, original BMW radio is working, all of the windows, locks and mirrors, the seat controls, the tilt and telescoping wheel, the onboard computer, the sunroof are all working. The car has just had a service completed including the valve covers and the engine mounts.
