President and CEO
Scott Utter is the President and CEO of Arizona based classic car dealership and restoration shop, European Motor Studio, LLC. Born and raised in Chandler Arizona, Scott grew up in an entrepreneurial family with his Father, Mother and both sets of Grandparents owning their own businesses. His Father was a direct influence on Scott with his invention of the Misty Mate; a portable mist system. Scott knew that he would take his passion and love affair of cars and turn it into a business.
The obsession for European cars dates back to infancy; Scott could say Mercedes, Jaguar and Porsche practically before anything else. Matchbox and Hotwheels cars were all he played with and automobile magazines and car brochures were all he read. As the passion grew, the matchbox cars turned to model cars then turned to real life cars. At the age of 14 Scott and his Dad, Steve worked on a restoration project together, a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette. Scott then at the age of 15 bought his first car, a 1985 Jaguar XJ6. He re-sold the car at a profit and then continued from that point on buying, selling and restoring all through high school. After graduating high school at Seton Catholic in Chandler, Scott went straight to work for Penske owned Scottsdale Jaguar/Land Rover in the sales department gaining valuable sales and customer service experience.
After working with the Penske team for almost 4 years, Scott then took a job at Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction Company in Phoenix Arizona where he learned the classic car auction side of the business. All while undertaking a restoration on a 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 out of his garage. After the completion of the Lotus Esprit project, Scott started taking the Lotus to all of the local car shows and joining some of the local car clubs. After 3 years working for Russo and Steele and the sale of the Lotus Esprit, Scott then made the next step to opening his own company. After flipping more than 30 cars since his first project with his father, Scott finally opened doors to European Motor Studio in the summer of 2013.
